Expectant Mom and Three Kids Killed When Truck Crushes Car, Cause of Accident Was Sickeningly Avoidable
When Lindsey Schmidt, 29, of Beecher, Illinois, buckled in her 1-year-old, 4-year-old and 6-year-old to drive to bible school she had no idea that it would be for the last time. With a fourth baby on the way, Schmidt was glowing, blissfully unaware of the tragic fate that was soon approaching.
While driving her 2014 Subaru Outback, a 2002 Chevrolet S10 pickup reportedly missed the stop sign and crashed into the driver’s side of Schmidt’s vehicle. The impact pushed the Subaru off the road and completely crushed it.
According to reports, a 25-year-old man was allegedly distracted by texting while driving. While he sustained minor injuries, tragically Schmidt, her unborn baby and her 1-year-old, Caleb, were instantly killed. Weston, 4, and Owen, 6, were temporarily in critical condition, but sadly also died. Their father, Edward, is now left with the biggest heartache any person could have of loosing his entire family. Please don’t text and drive.
